ALAS Regional Writing Conference

How do we best welcome the cultural, linguistic, and community assets of our students into our classrooms and into our institutions? How do we recognize the skills our students bring with them from their cultural and communal heritage, and teach them to adapt those skills in the academic and professional environment? Would you like to participate in this conversation with like-minded faculty? If so, we want you at our conference! As part of Project ALAS, this conference provides a unique opportunity for faculty from Moorpark College, Oxnard College, Ventura College, Santa Barbara City College, Allan Hancock Community College, CSU Channel Islands, and regional high schools to come together in order to exchange best practices with the goal of aligning our pedagogy to best serve our students.
